A Window into a Perfect Summer Day

Thank you, God, for this wonderful day.

Daddy, where are we going?

I want to follow you.

I want to live for Jesus

And so I'll follow you.

You've given time, you've given love,

You've given wisdom and advice.

You are there to help us cross

the chasms of our daily life.

You've taught us how to laugh and play

and be just downright fun.

You taught us how to work and then

You expect it to get done.

Thank you, Dad, for showing us

the path to take to God.

Keep on teaching, loving, living,

'Cause we're following the path you trod.

Celebrating with the Heavenly Father

Thank you, Dad for giving

all the love you had to give.

For being there through night and day

to chase the dreams away.

You gave to me a country life

to learn of stars and trees and flowers.

The lessons that were learned

are treasured without sorrow.

The times of fishing, camping, hiking

are memories that endure.

I'll not forget those things you did

nor who you really were.

A Dad who loved, a man who served,

a heart that beat for God.

A flower to see, A mountain to climb,

One more ridge to cross.

You taught me how to pause each day

and see God's handiwork anew.

To look for good in the bad

and know God wasn't through.

God holds me in his hand right now

As you are there with Him.

He knows the plan He has for me

and why you are with Him.

This Father's Day will fill with tears

with a rainbow lining.

For always through our cloud of grief,

We have the Son of God still shining.

So, Daddy, have a special day

On Father's Day tomorrow.

You'll get to celebrate this day

with our Heavenly Father.

Manifold Mercies

"Thou art the Lord the God who didst choose...and madest a covenant...and didst see...and shewdest signs and wonders...and thou didst divide the sea before them...moreover thou leddest...thou camest down... and gavest them...and they refused to obey neither were mindful of thy wonders...but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness and forsookest them not." Nehemiah 9:7 - 17



Sometimes it is easy to judge the Israelites harshly. We read about all the miracles that God did for them and then see how they turned their backs on God and did their own thing. Yet, too many times we are guilty of doing the same thing. God answers our prayers. He supplies our needs and life is going great. Suddenly, we are faced with a new set of problems, a storm, or situation that seems to have no answer. It is then easy to develop tunnel-vision and see only the problem in front of us. It is the tendency of mankind to forget the help God has given in the past and feel like there is no answer to the problem we face now. We must work at remembering the victories that God has already given us. In Deuteronomy, chapters 4 - 8 God admonishes the Israelites again and again to remember what He has done for them. He says, "Beware lest thou forget..." "Beware that thou forget not...." "Thou shalt remember..." God knew there was a danger in forgetting the works God had done for them in the past and forgetting the true greatness of God, Himself. Consequently, they would be doomed for failure if they forgot God and His ways. God is still the same today. He still is the Almighty God and will not fail. He wants us to remember what He has done and how great He truly is. God wants to work in our lives just as He did in days past. His mercy is so vast we cannot comprehend it. God was continually there for the Israelites, even though at times, they didn't see or feel that He was there. God loved his people. In verse 19 of Nehemiah 9, it says "Yet thou in thy manifold mercies forsookest them not.....vs 20 says, "Thou gavest....and withheldest not. As we continue reading this chapter we see again and again that God does not forsake them. His mercies were given over and over to them. The word manifold means abundant in quanity or to increase in size. Mercies mean a compassionate, loving response to the undeserving. The abundance of God's responses to us with his love and kindness is so great. What a great God! "The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works." Psalm 145:8 & 9. 'This God is our God forever and ever. He will be our guide even unto death.' Let's remember and forget not who God is and all that He has done.

Kittens, Kittens and More Kittens.

There once was a cat named Teddy(the tiger) who belonged to a little girl. The little girl was so excited to find out that her cat was going to have kittens. On Thursday, April 16, they arrived tiger-striped and healthy. Teddy was an excellent mother. Always there to take care of her kittens and see that no predators could get near them, including the dog owned by the little girl's brother. The 5 kittens kept her busy. She thought she had no time to do anything else until, the neighbor came up and asked if Teddy would be opposed to adopting some more kittens who were orphans. Consequently, 6 kittens were added to the 12" by 12" box that was home to Teddy and her little family. Sadly only three of the orphans made it. Soon all 8 kittens were growing to be cute and cuddly. During this time, Shadow, the cat belonging to the other little girl was jealous of Teddy. She(the cat) was quite rude and spiteful whenever she could get a chance. Until one day, which happened to be May 18, the 2 little girls went outside to check on their cats. Soon they come running back in, "Mommy, mommy, Shadow is in the box with Teddy and her kittens." Picture this, eight kittens and two grown cats in a small 12" by 12"box. Shadow was carefully moved out of the way and what to our wondering eyes should behold but three brand-new baby kittens. Before it was over and done with, there were 13 kittens and 2 mother cats in one small box. Numerous attempts were made to separate the cats and kittens but Shadow would not tolerate that. Now that Shadow is a proud mother she thinks that all the kittens belong to her. Many times during that day Shadow could be seen carrying Teddy's kittens back to her box. To solve the problem, we put all the kittens and both cats in an extra large box and now they both take turns caring for the kittens.

6 year olds

I can't believe my baby girls are 6 years old. I thank God He has blessed me with these wonderful girls. Moriah got her first loose tooth on her birthday as well. Another milestone passed.
