Skiing the Slopes

To prepare for teaching the lesson on "Skiing the Slopes of Life", I went skiing today. A few facts I learned about skiing:
1. Pizza is not something you eat, it is an excercise in bending the knees inward to make a pizza shape with your skis.
2. Skiing too fast will bring total wipeout!
3. Skiing is all about weight--I guess I need to gain a few pounds. HA
4. Successful distribution of weight will help you stay upright--Not too much weight on those hips and thighs, now!
5. Cutting is not done with a knife, it is done with the edge of your skis.
6. The ground is all to anxious to meet with you face to face.
7. Getting upright while on a pair of skis is for a "superhuman."
8. An "S" is not a letter of the alphabet, it is the way you actually make it down the steep slopes with a little bit of grace.
9. Walking on skis is somthing like walking like a duck.
10. Always have your husband around to pick up the pieces when you wipe out on a slope.

In all honesty, I really enjoyed it and hope I can become as expert on skis, as my husband is.
He's awesome!

Wow! I am impressed. You have one up on me now. I don't think I would want to try, but maybe in my next lifetime. HA HA
