Life in God's Hands

"While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease." Genesis 8:22

God hath set us in an orderly world. A world that He is in charge of. A world governed by His hands. We see God's faithfulness in the seasons year after year. The planting and harvesting. The growth and the dying. The day and the night. Through it all God governs. He has planned it and by His ordering we see the effect of His perfect plan.

In the long winter days of ice and snow we sometimes wonder if spring will ever come. Spring always come. There has never been a year where winter has not given way to the new life of spring. We rejoice our way through the birth of new life and continue on. Maturing of fruits and vegtables are seen and then comes the bountiful harvest. The plants slowly die off, leaves fall and winter grips the earth once again. God's perfect plan continues on.

God has a plan for the seasons, for planting and harvesting and day and night. God has a plan for our lives as well. Sometimes we face the season of winter where death and dying seems to be all around. At other times we face the nights of discouragement, defeat and despair. In those times we must remember the faithfulness of God. Those words "for as long as the world remaineth {they} ...shall not cease" give us hope. There will be night and DAY, winter and SPRING. Those winter days will one day lose their icy grip upon our lives and give way to the refreshing birth of spring. Those nights, when we wonder if day will ever break, will some moment give way to the quiet dawn of a new day, a new opportunity, a life to be lived within the plan that God has devised. Let us go on living and trusting in God's plan for our lives.
