Table Rock
Yesterday we went to Table Rock State Park near Greenville, SC. We went hiking, found a swimming hole along the trail and the kids all played in the water. That was the highlight of their trip. We had a picnic and I took pictures of all the kids. Some of them weren't too happy about my "portrait studio" time but I got decent pics of all the kids. Will post them next.

As a Sparrow Alone
"Hear my prayer...Hide not thy face...answer me speedily...I am as a sparrow alone." Psalm 102:1,2,7
In Psalm 102 the psalmist uses word pictures to share how he is feeling. "..a pelican of the wilderness,..an owl of the desert,..a sparrow alone,..I am withered like grass." He is a picture of loneliness and desolation. Life has withered his emotions and stamped out the joy.
We've all been where the psalmist was. Calling for God to hear...Needing his help now... wanting to see His face...but yet feeling as desolate as a sparrow alone on the housetop. No strength left to fight on. Overwhelmed with life, utterly alone and feeling that our prayers aren't being heard. When these times come, cling to God. Remember our God endures. The problems and loneliness will not. vs. 12 "But thou, O Lord, shall endure forever;..."
He does listen when we pray. When we have no stamina left to go on and are emotionally destitute God will still regard or hear our prayers. He doesn't write us off when we cry out to God in the overwhelming stages of life. vs. 17 "He will regard the prayer of the destitute and not despise their prayer." Thank you God that you hear. Thank you for providing a Rock to cling to in the storms of life.

Pictures of the inside of my house
Home again
I'm back in the blogging world for a few days. This past week we were in Indiana at the ICHA camp. It was a great camp. Rev. Dan Stetler and Rev. Noel Scott were the evangelists. The Whitaker family were the singers.
This Friday starts Columbia camp here in South Carolina. It is about 2 hours from here. We will be going down for some of that camp. It is the camp that the majority of our church people go too. Rev. Noel Scott and Rev. Chad Searles are the evangelists.
The rest of our summer will be just as busy with my in- laws coming for about 5 days, kids camp (if we make it up there for that), family reunion, a two-day getaway without kids for our 15th anniversery (I hope) and lots more.
